PM Kisan Yojana 2026 – Installment Status, eKYC & Beneficiary List Check

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is one of the largest direct benefit transfer schemes in the world, supporting over 9.5 crore Indian farmer families with ₹6,000 per year credited directly to their bank accounts. As we move into 2026, eKYC has become non-negotiable, and many beneficiaries are being held back from receiving their installment because of pending verification. Here's the complete 2026 guide to check installment status, complete eKYC, fix rejections, and view the village-wise beneficiary list.

What Is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?

Launched in February 2019 by the Ministry of Agriculture, the PM-KISAN scheme provides ₹6,000 per year to eligible small and marginal farmer families, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme is 100% centrally funded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a farmer get under PM-KISAN every year?
Each eligible farmer family receives ₹6,000 per year, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months — typically in April-July, August-November and December-March. The amount is credited directly to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account via DBT. The government has discussed raising the amount in successive budgets, but as of FY 2026-27, the figure remains ₹6,000. Some states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha offer top-up schemes that add to this central amount.
Why hasn't my PM Kisan installment come?
The four most common reasons are: (1) Pending eKYC — complete it on pmkisan.gov.in or via PM-KISAN app, (2) Aadhaar not linked / not seeded with bank account — visit your branch and submit the seeding form, (3) Land record verification pending at Tehsil — visit Patwari and ask for status, (4) Name spelling mismatch between Aadhaar and bank passbook. Open "Know Your Status" on the portal; the rejection reason is shown there. Fix that single issue and your next installment will be released automatically.
Can both husband and wife claim PM-Kisan separately?
No. PM-KISAN benefit is given per family, not per individual. A "family" is defined as husband, wife and minor children. Even if husband and wife own land in their separate names, only one of them can receive the ₹6,000 benefit. If both apply, only the first valid registration will receive funds and the second one will be flagged and recovered. Adult children with separate landholding can apply as separate family units after their marriage or after they form an independent household.
What is the difference between OTP-based and face authentication eKYC?
OTP-based eKYC requires your mobile number to be registered with Aadhaar — the OTP comes to that number for verification. Many farmers, especially older ones, have outdated mobile numbers in Aadhaar. Face authentication eKYC (via PM-KISAN mobile app) solves this — you only need a smartphone with a camera. The app captures your live face, matches it with the photo in your Aadhaar database, and completes verification in under 30 seconds. It is the easiest method when OTP doesn't work and CSC is far away.
What is the toll-free number for PM-KISAN complaints?
For grievances, call the official PM-KISAN helpline at 155261 or 011-24300606. You can also email pmkisan-ict@gov.in. Online grievances can be filed at pmkisan.gov.in under "Farmers Corner → Grievance / Helpdesk". Keep your Aadhaar number, application reference and bank passbook copy handy. Typical resolution time is 15-30 days. For very persistent issues, raise the matter with your state agriculture department's nodal officer (list available on the portal).
